EURO 2016: Trezeguet supports Benzema inclusion
Karim Benzema has received further backing for his inclusion in France's squad for Euro 2016 from 71-cap striker David Trezeguet.
Benzema is facing criminal charges related to the alleged blackmail of fellow France star Mathieu Valbuena and has been suspended by the French Football Federation since December.
The likes of Zinedine Zidane have already expressed their support for the Real Madrid striker and Trezeguet also hopes a resolution is reached before the finals on home soil.
"Yes," he told reporters when asked if Benzema should play. "At team level, for the show.
"There is talk of a single player, (who is) exceptional compared to the competition and its national team.
"That is the sport side. After that, it is not for me to decide. But I hope, personally, they will find a solution and that Benzema will be included with France.
"We are all aware that this is a very important player for the team of France."
