Warri Wolves dismissed insinuations that big forward, Gbolahan Salami will leave the club in the January transfer window, it has been reported.
Several clubs have been on the trail of the Nigerian international after his impressive outing last season for the Seasider and for the Super Eagles. Salami netted 17 times to emerge as the top-scorer of the 2014/15 Nigeria Professional Football League campaign.
A feat which prompted speculation that he is about to depart the Nigeria Professional Football League for greener pasture abroad. As a result, he could not make the training camps of the Eagles ahead of the ongoing CHAN competition in Rwanda.
Sources within the Warri-based outfit have now revealed that that Seasiders will not sell Gbolahan Salami.
“I don’t think we will allow Salami to leave when we are to play Champions League with other teams. The sources said.
Salami's talents and characteristics were also lauded by the official. “He is a prolific striker. You can see the goals he scores. Sometimes you think that he is out of the game but he does the most important thing."
