Sturridge back in training but still not an option to play

Daniel Sturridge during a training session at Melwood Training Ground this week

Daniel Sturridge has finally returned to Liverpool training after enduring a number of injury setbacks but is not ready to be included in Jurgen Klopp's matchday plans.
The striker has been assigned a mini pre-season schedule by the manager in an effort to boost his strength and resistance.
Sturridge has made just six appearances this season but has still netted four goals in his 349 minutes on the pitch.

Klopp wanted Sturridge to come through a series of sessions at Melwood unscathed before considering him for first-team fixtures, but the 26-year-old has not been able to string together a run of workouts.
There is absolutely no chance for Daniel,” Klopp said when discussing Wednesday’s FA Cup third-round replay against Exeter City.
“He had a break in his training sessions because of some issues; he is now back on the pitch and again training.
“He has had no team training until now since Newcastle [on December 6], so that’s not a situation where we can think about him. We have always to find solutions.”
