Zambia decision Angola
Zambia’s preparations for the 2016 African Nations Championship (Chan) got off to a bright start in Johannesburg on Sunday, when they beat Angola 2-1 in a friendly international at Muller Ground.
Chipolopolo, though, had to come from behind after Angola had taken the lead through Adriano who beat Zesco United goalkeeper Jacob Banda with a low shot.
Cletus Chama equalised for Zambia to see the Zesco midfielder score his debut goal for Chipolopolo before the two teams went 1-1 into halftime.
Green Eagles Mwila Phiri later scored the winner to join Chama on the debut goal roll for Zambia on the day.
The win extends Zambia’s unbeaten run to five games since losing 3-0 to Egypt last October 11 in a friendly played in Abu Dhabi.
Zambia are scheduled to play their final friendly on Tuesday when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns' junior team at the same venue before departing for Kigali 24 hours later.
Chipolopolo are in Group D at the Chan tournament that Rwanda will host from January 16 to February 7.
They will face Zimbabwe in their opening game on January 19 before playing Uganda in a penultimate Group D match on January 23.
George Lwandamina’s side will wrap up their Group D fixtures against Mali on January 27.
